This year’s Vivid festival showcased a series of inspiring talks from some of the most creative minds in the business, held at Sydney Opera House and the MCA. My focus as one of the official photographers was to capture speakers, attendees and the atmosphere of this colourful annual event.

Only a very limited number of media were allowed in to Lady Gaga’s ‘Sydney Monster Ball’, a multi million dollar performance put on by various sponsors, one including Channel V, whom I was commissioned by. With three Versace costume changes and a giant stage set in front of the Town Hall’s impressive organ, the show was a money-can’t-buy experience for 1000 winning fans. Although the photographer’s pit wasn’t ideally situated, at 22m back from the stage and behind a pole, I considered myself lucky at being asked to shoot a great show with one of the world’s hottest performers.
Ms Darlinghurst and the Booze Braggart run Sydney Bar Tours. With two industry insiders, it’s a great way to see some of Sydney’s best bars that might have slipped past your radar.
